Clearwater, FL

This weekend we went to Clearwater, FL, to visit Dominique's best friends Evan and Nick. We have really missed these two and their families since we moved from St. Louis. The Tammenga and Fiala family came from St. Louis to Clearwater for a family vacation, and they invited us to join them for some fun in the sun and some roller coaster action Busch Gardens style. Donovan and I could only stay for three days, but we had a very relaxing time. The water was sooo warm and very calm without any riptides (hurray!!). Our kids also had a great time. The boys are actually in Clearwater until Friday, and I hope they are remembering to wear sunscreen so that they still have their top layer of skin when we next see them this Friday. Picture order from left to right on the private beach to the Gulf of Mexico in front of the condos where we stayed... Pat Fiala (her husband Tom is taking the picture), Mike and Jackie Tammenga, Dreyton, Evan Tammenga, Dominique, Nick Fiala, Jasmine, Katie Fiala, Jyllian, Donovan and Janae.

Here are the three little ladies of the trip: Jyllian, Jasmine, and Katie Fiala. Katie is 14, and she was just wonderful with our two little girls. We give her a huge "thumbs up" as a babysitter!

This is the ocean view side of the condos. We stayed in the penthouse on the 10th floor in the middle with the Fialas, and the boys stayed with the Tamengas on the 8th floor directly 2 floors below us.

Here are the three REAL ladies of the trip: Jackie, Janae, and Pat. Watch out Clearwater!! Here we come...and maybe with a little tan after the day in the sun on the beach.

Jyllian had a load of fun diggin in the sand and filling her bucket. Jasmine and Katie would help fill and carry the bucket as Jyllian filled it.

Dominique and Evan made a peace sign in the sand that you could peer down and view from our condo rooms. John Lennon would be so proud.

Proud papa with his princesses at the beach right before sunset.

Here's the boys of the beach getting ready to swim out and throw sand/mud balls at each other.

Proof we still hug one another and go to some "exotic" places every blue moon.

These are pictures we took at Busch Gardens. They have some sa-weet roller coaster rides that are highly ranked for best roller coasters in the US. I even went on one that almost made me wet my pants as I plunged straight down in a huge free-fall. The top picture has Dominique hanging around as Evan and Nick look on. The second pic is the whole gang in front of the Anheuser Busch eagle to demonstrate our alligience to the "king" of STL. Tom (far left in the orange shirt) was able to get in this picture as an employee acted as our photographer. The bottom picture was taken at the kiddie land area that we should have found sooner to let Jyllian (and all the kids) run around a bit and play. We really had a wonderful time visiting and playing with our good friends from Missouri. Although we miss them very much, we are extremely grateful for the time we had to spend with them in Clearwater, and we look forward to seeing them again.

Ah, the fanny pack is back. I know I make fun of it, but hopefully I too can wear one next year on the raging trip to Disney World. I hope your boys are wearing sunscreen too because Dominique looks like he has had a lot of sun. I am wondering who that little Mexican girl who is supposed to be Jasmine is. Looks like she has had quite a bit of sun.

Asi que tu seguiste mi consejo esta vez. Bien hecho, hermano. Te cuidaste de la agua maldita. No te equivoques (Make no mistake about it...on my way to be a politician), yo encanto el agua y de verdad es bendito especialmente cuando es vidrio. Looks like you guys had a lot of fun! Awesome!

Fun, fun, fun. I had a hard time, though, trying to decide who the big ape really was in the picture of the boys.

Oh, and I have more fanny packs for family trips should anyone want to send in their reservations now.

Hey you guys! I haven't read your blog forever because I somehow missed adding you on my contact list. Sorry! But it has been fun reading your last several blog posts and catching up on what you have been doing. I love the peace sign on the beach! :) What a fun getaway!
