MRI mania

Dominique and Dreyton volunteered to be control subjects in a study Donovan is working on at the University of Florida investigating muscle in children with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. The boys were compensated exceptionally well for their time and efforts with a Supersized Big Mac meal at Mickey D's to make their muscles even "stronger." A large part of the study involves MRI's of the leg muscles. Can you tell whose calf is whose in these two pictures?? Note the family resemblance in both pictures to the calves of their Grandpa Peterson. Now dem's some big ol' calves!!

Found Dog...please leave comment!!!

Do you know who owns this dog? It came up to our doorstep yesterday at 9:30 PM. We fed it ham. The kids begged their mother to keep it until the owner came to get it. We've put up three signs around the neighborhood hoping this dog's owner will see them. The kids are also hoping that if no owner comes, we will be able to keep the dog. She is a very obedient dog and has only urinated once in the the house! (Right when it came in it did this.) It also defecated on our neighbor's front lawn. Anyway, please tell anyone who owns the dog to contact us right away.
AND PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT FOR OUR MOTHER CONVINCING HER TO LET US KEEP THIS DOG IF WE DO NOT HEAR FROM ITS OWNER. Thanks, the Lott kids

Grandma Wins

Grandma won the riddle. The answer was that they don't have belly buttons. Pt.III of my riddles will be coming soon, so be ready!

Hint or Hints?

Because this riddle is just starting out, this will be a small hint.

The something that the archaeologist sees to know for a fact that the two bodies are Adam and Eve's has nothing to do with the common story we know about them.

Here is another hint because I know this is really hard.

They still have skin on their bodies.

Good Luck!

Dominique's Riddle Pt. II

Here is another riddle that everyone, including Grandma Lott, can answer... This riddle will make your brain explode. I will give hints to anyone who asks on the comment board.

Two archaeologists are looking for Adam and Eve's bodies. One of them finds the bodies. How does he know for a fact that these two bodies are Adam and Eve's right when he sees them?

Ginnie Springs and Dominique's Fx

So the clinic Donovan does some part-time work for (Fit For Life Physical Therapy, see http://www.fitforlifept.com/staff.shtml) had their annual get-together at Ginnie Springs (see http://www.ginniespringsoutdoors.com/). It had been raining when we arrived, but the weather improved as we enjoyed some great BBQ and sweets. I noticed that there were a lot (hundreds) of small tubs with different colored jello. I asked Dominique and Dreyton if they wanted some jello, but Donovan acted swiftly and denied my kind offer as the jello had tequila in it (see http://www.cuervo.com/default.aspx?url=http://www.cuervo.com/home/main.aspx). Did you know they make jello shots?? I guess I am a little more innocent than I think sometimes.

Although I didn't get any good pictures of us floating down the river on the tubes, here are some at the van as we inflated the tubes.
We all knew Dreyton's hot air would come in handy someday.

Note Dominique's posturing of his left hand. See below for more details.

We are SO FREAKING EXCITED TO BE HERE!!! Donovan thought I looked sexy in this picture. ;) ...Ok, so Donovan typed that sentence.

Jasmine was thrilled to get ready for the 72 degree water in her new pink tube.

Jasmine was still hungry after all of that good food. Luckily, our little gymnast escaped the jaws of hunger by the skin of her pa-tootie.

Here is Jyllian modeling her happy and pout-like looks that she has been working on as she prepares for the walkway in Paris next spring.

As Dominique and Dreyton were finishing their fun-filled trip with the Fiala's and the Tamenga's, Dominique slipped and hit his hand on the edge of the pool. After an x-ray this morning, he won the trophy for the "Fractured Hand in the Family Award" for this weekend. Congratulations, Dominique!! We are proud of your accomplishment, but we hope your siblings do not follow your example as we do not want to cough up more co-pays.

Clearwater, FL

This weekend we went to Clearwater, FL, to visit Dominique's best friends Evan and Nick. We have really missed these two and their families since we moved from St. Louis. The Tammenga and Fiala family came from St. Louis to Clearwater for a family vacation, and they invited us to join them for some fun in the sun and some roller coaster action Busch Gardens style. Donovan and I could only stay for three days, but we had a very relaxing time. The water was sooo warm and very calm without any riptides (hurray!!). Our kids also had a great time. The boys are actually in Clearwater until Friday, and I hope they are remembering to wear sunscreen so that they still have their top layer of skin when we next see them this Friday. Picture order from left to right on the private beach to the Gulf of Mexico in front of the condos where we stayed... Pat Fiala (her husband Tom is taking the picture), Mike and Jackie Tammenga, Dreyton, Evan Tammenga, Dominique, Nick Fiala, Jasmine, Katie Fiala, Jyllian, Donovan and Janae.

Here are the three little ladies of the trip: Jyllian, Jasmine, and Katie Fiala. Katie is 14, and she was just wonderful with our two little girls. We give her a huge "thumbs up" as a babysitter!

This is the ocean view side of the condos. We stayed in the penthouse on the 10th floor in the middle with the Fialas, and the boys stayed with the Tamengas on the 8th floor directly 2 floors below us.

Here are the three REAL ladies of the trip: Jackie, Janae, and Pat. Watch out Clearwater!! Here we come...and maybe with a little tan after the day in the sun on the beach.

Jyllian had a load of fun diggin in the sand and filling her bucket. Jasmine and Katie would help fill and carry the bucket as Jyllian filled it.

Dominique and Evan made a peace sign in the sand that you could peer down and view from our condo rooms. John Lennon would be so proud.

Proud papa with his princesses at the beach right before sunset.

Here's the boys of the beach getting ready to swim out and throw sand/mud balls at each other.

Proof we still hug one another and go to some "exotic" places every blue moon.

These are pictures we took at Busch Gardens. They have some sa-weet roller coaster rides that are highly ranked for best roller coasters in the US. I even went on one that almost made me wet my pants as I plunged straight down in a huge free-fall. The top picture has Dominique hanging around as Evan and Nick look on. The second pic is the whole gang in front of the Anheuser Busch eagle to demonstrate our alligience to the "king" of STL. Tom (far left in the orange shirt) was able to get in this picture as an employee acted as our photographer. The bottom picture was taken at the kiddie land area that we should have found sooner to let Jyllian (and all the kids) run around a bit and play. We really had a wonderful time visiting and playing with our good friends from Missouri. Although we miss them very much, we are extremely grateful for the time we had to spend with them in Clearwater, and we look forward to seeing them again.

Girls' Night Out

Wednesday night, Jasmine and I went with the girl scouts for their year end party. The girls sold enough cookies to have an all expense paid night out. The girl scout leader chose to go to Build-A-Bear and dine at a Japanese restaurant called Yamato. Each girl had a twenty dollar limit and I had a $5 off coupon, so Jasmine was able to get a dog and an outfit.

Only five girls were able to come, but we usually have eight in the troop. I took this picture in the front of the store and the girls were a little excited.
Jasmine had never been to a Japanese steak house before, but she really liked the food. The cook made fire on the grill and this was very entertaining for the girls. Jasmine wants to bring the whole family back to this restuarant. If it were only that easy, it's quite expensive. I told them we would have to save up and go.

The girl scout leaders name is Renee. She is the middle. I'm glad someone volunteers their time to make it possible to have girl scouts.

Only one color, but not one size...

Here is a riddle from Dominique to see who is the smartest. Hurry and answer it before someone else does! Here it is.

Only one color, but not one size.

Stuck at the bottom, yet easily flies.

Present in the Sun, but not in the rain.

Doing no harm, and feeling no pain.

What is it?

Home Projects

I was very busy this weekend painting my living room. I know this is a terrible picture. Donovan took the picture, but he obviously couldn't see that my eyes were closed. This was the only picture taken of the vaulted ceiling, so I decided to post the fabulous picture. It took me all day to paint and I was exhausted. Donovan did move the entertainment center for me. Hopefully, that won't need to be moved again. It's a beast! Sometimes, I get a bug to paint and it drives Donovan crazy. He can't understand why I need to change the color of the walls. Thank goodness for my ladder. It was a great gift and comes in handy for a lot of projects.
As you can see the walls were all an antique white. The walls really did have a lot of scuff marks.
In April, Donovan gave me this clock for my birthday. After, I painted he decided it was now time to finally hang the clock. Thanks Donovan.
