What kids eat?! The dinner of champions

The other night, we had pigs in a blanket for dinner. It's a very fast and easy meal and great for kids. Jyllian poured about a 1/4 cup ketchup on her plate. She loves ketchup! We were all finishing eating, and she said she was done too. I looked at her plate. She had only eaten one bite of her hot dog. I said, "Jyllian did you only eat the ketchup for dinner," and she said, "No I licked it with my finger." Surely, there is some nutrition in ketchup. After all it is made with tomatoes, right? She does the same thing with ranch dressing (another nutritious and important energy source). I'm not sure how much of the solid food she actually eats, but at least she's eating the salad dressing to cover the necessary fat intake recommended by nutritionists. What other "energy enriched" foods make up the diet of your children (or yourself)?

I remember when Stacey's son Tyler was little she would just pour ranch on the high chair tray for him to dip in and he ate that off the tray.

Lily is into the ketchup thing right now and always asks for it on her eggs. Noah has been going to the freezer for ice cream for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I think he might be related to Janae.

BTW, we were watching tv today and an infomercial came on for snoring strips that you put across your nose, after a few minutes Lily was sold and said, "mom I think we need to get those for Jazzy."

Because we've been trying to eat more veggies at our house, we too pull out the Ranch some days for the love of dipping! Most of the time Emily eats strawberries plain, but sometimes she'll ask to dip them in sugar, and says, "Mmm, they taste better like this mommy!" Smart girl, eh? haha

Well Meg doesn't believe in eating...only drinking...milk, juice, water. It makes no difference. Maybe if I put ketchup in a cup she would drink that too.

When I put honey, ketchup, or fry sauce in front of Ethan to dip his chicken or fries or tots in, he likes to put his finger in it and lick it off, too. That's what he'll eat. He likes ranch too, but doesn't get that too often because we don't have good ranch at our house so I don't use it a lot.
