Christmas 2009

Our family spent Christmas at our home this year. Since the December 2005 birth of Jyllian, we have decided to travel to UT every other year. It was nice to be able to relax at home, but it was also much quieter than a regular Christmas with all the family in Utah. The kids were able to play with their presents and we played a few games too. I grew up having a tradtional Christmas Eve dinner. So, I made a special dinner that night, and we were able to eat leftovers on Christmas day. I do, however, enjoy my mother-in-law's Christmas lunch and did miss it this year. Thank you mom, dad, Wayne, Anne, Jeremy, Amanda and the little cousins for the gifts you sent. We truly appreciate your thoughtfulness. It helps makes living so far away from family a little easier.

Jasmine has been wanting a pet that she can call her own for over two years. We just didn't want to deal with another pet, but she wouldn't let it go. So this year Santa (the nice man he is) brought her a parakeet. When she walked into the living room and saw the bird, she said, "Finally!" She also received an American doll. She has wanted that for awhile too. Dominique spent the majority of the day building his lego sets. That's all he wanted for Christmas. He was happy to get him some legos.

Over the break, Donovan watched a lot of football, more football, and oh, did I mention football? He did also enjoy some other forms relaxation that did not require yelling at the tv set. It was nice to have him take some time off work. He promised if we would just stay home during the Christmas break, he would clean up our room. He did clean the room, and it looks much better. He moved a lot of his papers and books to his new office on campus. He actually has his very own office now, and it's in a brand new building.

Here we have Dreyton playing with his legos. No, he didn't get the barbie rv, pixos, or zu zhu pets for Christmas (although he may have gotten some ideas for next year), but Jyllian did. Jyllian once again did not want her picture taken.
