How old are we??

Last night we were watching the Princess Bride on TV. Donovan and I told Jasmine it was time to go to bed. She wanted us to record the rest of the movie, but we were going to be switching channels. Our DVR doesn't allow us to record one event and watch another. She said, "Well, don't we have this movie?" I said, "No we don't". Jasmine said, "You know on those square things that you put in the square machine." Donovan and I looked at each other unsure of what she meant, and then began laughing as we realized she didn't even know what to call a VHS tape and VCR. She has grown up in the dvd era. She doesn't even know what a VCR even is. I guess Donovan and I are getting REALLY old. At least we have one another to get gray and wrinkley together. :)

It's hard to think that "Princess Bride" is that old. Hmmm. Has she been able to see the rest of it yet?

I have the DVD! Jasmine can watch it when you are here if she hasn't seen the rest by then. We had to get a VCR from Dad so that Ethan could watch Bryan's old Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie.

Sounds great! We were thinking of trying to get our kids watching an 80's classic movie set when we were in UT July: Princess Bride, Karate Kid, Twins, Better Off Dead, Strange Brew, Gremlins, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Romancing the Stone, Hoosiers, Back to the Future, Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, SpaceBalls, UHF, etc.

What else do you recommend for them? They have already seen ET, Rocky series, Star Wars, Goonies.

We have most of those movies on the square things in our basement. But I am afraid they are wearing out.

We just pulled the square-thingy-player out of our bedroom the other night to watch that exact movie! It was great family bonding. As for suggestions, I've was thinking of the movie Willow the other day for some reason. We also own a copy of the Three Amigos.
